Danthonia australis turf on ridge just above forest.
Notes:
Compare CHR 73684 and CHR 73728. Flowers pure white, 1.5cm diameter. Petal 1cm long, narrow obovate, obtuse to rounded at tip. Stamens black. Stigma green. Seeds thirteen. Supplementary label: If this is Gentiana gracilifolia, then it is not confined to wet places but is like this in leaf-size whenever it is found growing in tussock grass. It is NOT turf-forming. Specimens growing in open places (not through tussock grass) have larger leaves, and are indistinguishable from Gentiana vernicosa. See CHR 75661. Number of flowers per scape seems to vary according to size of plant - large plants many flowered.
