Habitat:
Rock slide on summit ridge. (Also found in tussock grass - Danthonia australis turf).
Notes:
Common on Mount Peel, forming patches of dense turf. Flowers white, stamens black, stigma green. Undescribed species. Leaves glossy when fresh. Supplementary Label: Seen only on Mount Peel and on the ridge north east of Lake Sylvester. Not seen on Mount Arthur, Gordon Pyramid, or in the Boulder Lake - Haupiri Range area. Forms patches of dense glossy bright green turf 2.5cm - 5cm deep, with scapes standing erect at the periphery of each patch. Each patch may be from 10cm - 46cm diameter, depending on the age of the plant, and in tussock grass has a concave surface. Scapes bear 1-5 flowers each. See also CHR 75642 and CHR 75643. Seeds sown.
