Supplementary remarks:
This matches specimens at D.M. coll. by F.G.Gibbs on Mt. Arthur & labelles S.glaucophyllus, but not that collected by T.F.C. This does not fit T.F.C.'s description in the following: 1. "bushy mounds of growth" 2. "leaves...irregularly sinnate - dentate or serrate.....very glaucous." 3. "Involuerat bracts linear, acuminate." T.F.C.'s specimen at D.M. fits 2 & 3., but his plant, like this, is herbaceous & groundsel-like, not of "very different appearance from any of its allies? It is an ordinary perenial herb, dying down each winter & not remarkable for that. "minute scale-like leaves" at the base of the stem look like leaf-bases of fallen leaves. I think T.F.C.'s specimens at Auckland may show his S.glaucophyllus may be a different species from this one, which is not at all glaucous but has purple undersides tothe green leaves, and phyllaries merely acute.
