Specimen notes
Supplementary remarks:
Orthotrichum fascicularum Mitt mss.
I have marked a part of Buchanan's specimen of Orthotrichum Tasmanicum O. fasciculatum but it wants more observation. It seems to have a tuft of short branches at the top of its stems with many smaller fruits. The calyptra I am not sure about. Its leaves seem narrower.
Mr. Mitten in litt. to Mr. W. Bell 25 April 1889.
[However, despite this being glued beside the W. Bell specimen from Diamond Lake, it may not be about this specimen as the date is earlier. S. Gibb. June 2024]
Mr Mitten, 25 April 1889
