Hairy leaves, locality and habitat point to O. crosbyi instead of O. macrophylla subsp. lactea, but reproductive material would be helpful.

Habitat:
Fucshia and Hoheria dominate canopy with interdispersed CYAsmi, SCHdig and PSEcol dominate subcanopy some GRIlit epiphytes and climbers. Ferns and bryophytes dominate understory. Most species are both epiphytic and terrestrial.
Notes:
DOC Tier 1 and MfE LUCAS Programme Plot: J162; Sample Number: 201502391; Voucher Number: J162_068. Growing on woody debris amongst bryophytes. Specimen collected just off polt. Specimen on plot was a small seedling, pale green with soft downy hairs covering all leaf surfaces and petiole.
