Red tussock (Chionochloa rubra) tussockland. Gentle, rolling hills.
Notes:
Craspedia (aaa) (CHR 511789; Takitimu lowlands). Plants in early to full flowering stages. Corolla, pollen and anthers white. Scape dark red 12 - 25 cm long, Glomerules 8-13 mm wide x 6 - 8 mm high. Leaves 3-5 x 0.6-0.8 cm, with widest width at 2.5-4.0 cm. Single, tender rosettes. 100 + plants observed. Detailed photos were taken in the field of CHR 685540 A.
