Habitat:
Newly retired area, above red tussock grassland, open grasssland, dominated by Pilosella officinarum (25-80%, average 55%).
Notes:
Craspedia (gg) (CHR 472168; Mararoa) c. 20 plants in 3 patches observed. Rosettes as well as early to full flowering stages and one plant with glomerule after anthesis. Glomerule 8-10 mm wide x 5-8 mm high. Scape red and slightly cover of firmly appressed woolly hairs, 13-15.5 cm. Leaves with thin woolly, closely appressed indumentum, thick abaxial midrib, therefore leaf slightly folded. Leaf 3-4 x 0.8 cm with widest width at 2.5 - 3 cm.
