Habitat:
Growing as a straggly sprawling scrambler supported by the branches and twigs of Coprosma rhamnoides, under a fragmented canopy of secondary Kunzea robusta and Melicytus ramiflorus.
Microhabitat:
Growing sprawling through Coprosma rhamnoides, C. crassifolia or Helichrysum lanceolatum shrubs under a canopy dominated by Kunzea robusta and Melicytus ramiflorus. Associated species include Lophomyrtus obcordata, Pennantia corymbosa, Prumnopitys taxifolia (young trees), Coprosma areolata, Coprosma rotundifolia, Cyathea dealbata and Piper excelsum ssp. excelsum.
Notes:
Substrate: Growing in well-drained soils near the eroding foot of a colluvial hill-slope, occasional angular stones and clay exposures.
Population size: Scattered throughout secondary vegetation, both locally and within the wider Conway Flat landscape.
