From handwritten letter by Shannel Courtney dated 18 Feb 2023 accompanying specimens: "Hi Mike, I have sent you some hebes for the Te Papa herbarium. They are none other than Hebe divaricata - this long-leaved form is now included in my circumscription of it, since our phone conversation about it. This is the one I typically find on marble and limestone in eastern Golden Bay. The much branched inflorescence should have been a dead giveaway. All the best, Shannel."
