Habitat:
Riparian, bank of highly modified urban creek. Banks planted with indigenous trees and shrubs (eucalypts, Acacia dealbata, Kunzea etc.) but ground layer dominated by weedy herbs. Associated taxa: Tradescantia fluminensis, Rumex, Juncus, Ranunculus repens, Erigeron karvinskianus.
Notes:
Straggly herb forming a dense patch of c. 2.5 x 1.5 m, with stems to 0.5 m tall. Leaves dark green above, mid green and with exserted vanation below. Stems green, prominently ridged. Involucre green. Rays white, disc yellow. Cypsellas dark brown with pale brown pappus. Not native.
