Habitat:
Corticolous on the drier, weathered bark of cyclone toppled Kermadec pohutukawa (Metrosideros kermadecensis) trees lying across road. Associated with Pseudocyphellaria aurata, P. argyracea, Pannaria elixii, other Pannaria spp., Haplohymenium pseudotriste, Thuidium sparsum and Macromitrium gracile
Notes:
Common. Fertile. Plants very dark green, straggly, seta pale yellowish when fresh. Collected in the field as Thuidium sparsum - with which it was associated.
