Specimen Notes: [Identified using key in Bayly & Kellow 2006 based on the following characters:1) leaf bud sinus conspicuous, narrow and acute; leaves usually < 4cm long = small-leaved "Apertae" group; 2) inflorescences unbranched, leaf bud sinus elongate & acute, leaves mostly < 2 cm long, corolla tube > 1.5 mm long and longer than the calyx, petiole and leaf margins glabrous, lower surface of leaves not glaucous, South Island location = V. brachysiphon.]
