Kanuka common on frost flat margins. No seeding trees found around centre of frost flat. Seeding trees further back away from core frost area. Most seed capsules empty. Associated species: Leptospermum scoparium, Veronica stricta, Cordyline australis, Dracophyllum subulatum. Habitat modification: Invasive species - weeds, pines, gorse. Land use: Regenerating scrub. Landform: Gully basin. Geology: ignimbrite. Soil: sandy. Aspect: W and various, undulating, flat slope.
