Relic of cultivation in boundary hedge.
Notes:
Vine with dense smothering habit. Tendrils ± dark purple when young. Sepals c. 3.5 cm long, oblong, white inside, green outside. Petals c. 3 cm long, somewhat narrower than sepals, white on both sides. Corona filaments to 3 cm long; proximal third deep violet; distal ⅔ white. Filaments and styles horizontal, pale green; latter c. 1.5 cm long, bifurcate and with large rounded, deep green, stigmatic knob. Fruit to c. 7 x 4 cm, subglobose, flushed red; flesh pale greenish-yellow, sweet.
