1). Rather diminutive specimen. Persistent/tardy leaves on sheaths. 2). No weft of hairs above ligule, no hairs on sheath or leaves. 3). Strongly keeled leaves with many ribs. 4). Compressed sheath (purple). 5). Leaves with abundant prickle teeth abaxailly and along margins. 6). Found in NU forest.
