Habitat:
Growing in patches of Blechnum filiforme under tall kanuka and kohekohe.
Notes:
An extensive strip (400 m) of plants along a ridge in the Scenic Reserve. The flowers are patchy and most propagation seems to be vegetative. The leaf size is very variable as flowers occur alone and below the leaf. It depends on where the plant is growing. On bare ground no flowers are above the leaf. There was a plant with a pure white leaf and petiole, but unfortunately no flower.
