Habitat:
Growing in roadside forest remnant amongst mahoe (Melicytus ramiflorus), kaikomako (Pennantia corymbosa), and kohekohe (Dysoxylum spectabile).
Notes:
One 15 m tree. Tree with straight erect trunk, bark smooth, not rugose, branchlets smooth (not tuberculate), leaf buds green, leaves bright green to dark green when fresh - not glaucescent, oil glands numerous but very small and scarcely discernible to naked eye unless held up to a light. Seems to fit this Chatham Island endemic better than it does Myoporum laetum or Myoporum aff. insulare. Typical Myoporum laetum is common on the peninsula.
