Habitat:
Steep rocky slope within open forest. Canopy species are Griselinia littoralis, Pseudopanax crassifolius, Coprosma linariifolia, Acer pseudoplatanus, with emergent Sophora microphylla, Hoheria angustifolia and Plagianthus regius. Important understorey species are Coprosma rotundifolia, Coprosma rubra, Coprosma virescens, Raukaua anomalus and Melicope simplex. Other notable species in the vicinity are Pseudopanax ferox and Brachyglottis sciadophila.
Microhabitat:
Growing alongside is Anisotome aromatica "big".
Notes:
Observed population comprises maybe 100 individuals in scattered patches, though it is likely to be present elsewhere (lots of favourable habitat).
