Habitat:
Coastal cliff slope, exposed sunny-aspect, steep, cliffed headland of calcareous mudstone, among rubbly talus in moist mossy ground flanking a steep stream. Low open scrub of Olearia avicenniifolia.
Notes:
Forming clumps of several stout rosettes together. Dense patches of seedlings occur on disturbed and bared terracettes of friable and unstable soil.
