Specimen notes
Supplementary remarks:
The collection at the Tasmanian State Herbarium (HO) includes a couple of specimens collected near Launceston in the past 10 years. It appears that the flowers are hermaphrodites so with luck seed will follow.
Parks have agreed to re-route the walking track away from this specimen. I've also suggested removing about 50% of the "over wood" and perhaps the rest in a year or two when it has more "sun" leaves. There is a rabbit problem on the island that needs to be addressed before seedlings can be established outside of fencing.
