Habitat:
In stream at ecotone between dense matai - totara - kahikatea - kowhai - hoheria riparian foret and farm land. Growing on the exposed roots of crack willow (Salix fragilis), on calcareous mudstone and silt derived from this, and now embedded between roots.
Notes:
Two mosses present, on Amblystegium the other - no idea? Neither common at all.
