Habitat:
Flat slope. Brown good soil, dry. Semi-shaded under Cocos.Vegetation: Small breadfruit, Commelina, Crotalaria, Bidens, Salvia, Wild Basil.
Notes:
Native name: Rūkau or Pota. Shrub to 2 m tall. Leaves round, lumpy, opposite, with fleshy long petioles - green with pink streaks. Leaves on a horizontal plane. Stem 2 cm diameter, slash - pale green. Flowers greeny/yellow, with a dark red centre and long yellow stamens, petals floppy. Crop grown as 'Spinach-like', similar to Hibiscus.
