Habitat:
Scattered plants
Notes:
Property owner became aware of the plant 12-18 months ago. Scattered plants are being found in other areas across the road (grid ref. 1685698 5403420). Although the plants are scattered, it appears that it has been there for some time. We suspect that the seed may have been moved around in hay and within the gut of cattle. The property is 164 ha, some of which is vineyard. I suspect that clumps of this grass could be found in any of the grazing paddocks, and would not rule out finding the plant in neighbouring properties as well. The occupiers have now begun control work with glyphosate. Rob Simons, Marlborough District Council
