Habitat:
On steep rocky ground under mixed hardwood canopy, especially of Melicytus ramiflorus and Griselinia lucida.
Notes:
Patches of small fronds from rhizomes creeping over broken rock, larger fertile fronds angling out sideways from rhizomes climbing up small māhoe trunk. Rhizomes slender, shaggy with dark brown scales.
