On low river terrace c. 10 m from Moawhango R. surrounding tall tussock with sheltered gaps between.
Microhabitat:
Scattered Chionochloa rubra/Festuca novae-zelandiae with gaps between having Hieracium pilosella, Leontodon taraxacoides & mosses.

Notes:

Supplementary remarks:
I agree with Colin that these (CHR 616282, CHR 616283 and CHR 616284) are all the same species. Certainly Euchiton japonicas complex sensu Flann (2010). These species seem poorly separated to me and need further study to clarify. In the absence of flowering/fruiting material I am reluctant to go further.
