Supplementary remarks:
These are Acaena agnipila (Australian) crossed with A. novae-zelandiae or A. anserinifolia, as Pat states.
We have not been able to identify the second parent in any case. The probable parent has been stated when either is growing in the vicinity. (Tony Orchard coined the name × anserina).
Pat has looked at the associated species and from the habitat A. novae-zelandiae would be the most likely second parent.
