Spontaneous in rock garden.
Notes:
Succulent herb with stout main stem c. 1.5 cm diam and 50 cm high, with a few small lateral branches towards base. Leaves to c. 8.5 x 2.5 cm, ± spathulate, deep green, except for very narrow reddish band on margin distally. Inflor. c. 15 x 20 cm, very broad ovoid with rounded top; inflor. rachis leaves persistent to flowering. Calyx lobes triangular, c. 2 mm long. Petals 9, each 7-8 mm long, ± elliptic, pale yellow. Stamens < petals, pale greenish-yellow. Glands almost square excepting ± emarginate distal margin, translucent. One of a number of such plants; Aeoniumarboreum, A. haworthii and A. undulatum all being present. Little overlap in flowering times between first two.
