Notes:
Common throughout island. Small to stout trees often with pendulous weeping branches. Bark peeling in long tabular strips, these snapping cleanly when broken in half; branchlet hairs mostly short (some long), antrorse, appressed to weakly spreading (i.e. almost divergent). The Kunzea population of Tuhua seems to be very uniflorm and it matches the "eastern North Island variant" described in my PhD Thesis (de Lange 2007, p. 317-351).
