Open and sunny flat area above roadside. Very exposed. Not many shrubs in this area: some grasses, scattered small Rosa and Discaria.

This is a putative hybrid between Gaultheria crassa and Gaultheria parvula. ~15 cm. Reddish branchlets. Thick red petioles. Short congested racemes. Small white berry. Large white/speckled pink fleshy calyx. Old fruits remain on plant. Plants do not look very healthy.
