Notes:
This is a putative hybrid between Gaultheria crassa and Gaultheria parvula. ~ 1m high. One large shrub, several small shrubs. A dark fungus covered the lower branches. Brownish red hairs on light green branchlets. Red petioles. Fruit in racemes or solitary. Fruit a dry capsule surrounded by a fleshy pink calyx (calyx lobe tips are green and not fleshy).
