Notes:
Large ± erect shrub to c. 3 m high. Shoots densely rusty-brown scaly. Leaves white scaly beneath except for brown midrib and petiole; upper surface of lamina dark shining green or on some shoots with broad yellow areas and some pale green areas between the yellow and dark green. Flowers only on reverted (i.e. dark green-leaved shoots), scaly white, c. 12 mm long; tube c. 8 mm long, gradually ampliate; lobes c. 4 mm long, triangular. Anthers and stigma ± level.
