Specimen notes
Supplementary remarks:
Setae 250-300 µm diam. nr. base, mostly 11-12 mm; capsules short & stout, 900-1000 µm diam at mid urn, with a slight suggestion of a struma; calyptra cucullate; operculum oblique. I have dissected two fully matrue capsules and two less mature capsule to examine the spores. In one of the fully mature capsules I have seen a small number of what seem to be poorly developed spores, but these are only the residue, following the nearly complete dispersal of the capsule contents. I cannot confidently interpret these as being the result of hybridization. The two less mature capsules each enclosed a mass of spores which were normally developed (but not fully mature). One of these capsules is retained in the tissue subpacket isolated by KWA (which also encloses several cucculate calyptra).
