In dense Tarahinau forest. Growing on Dracophyllum arboreum (Tarahinau) trunk.
Notes:
Uncommon. Upper surface bright green. Apothecia red to red-brown when dried somewhat oragne-red when fresh. Epiphyllous liverworts associated with lichen include Metzgeria furcata and Lejeunea primoridialis.
