Habitat:
Growing in a muddy substrate close to the creek bank, and would have been submerged at high tide.
Not much in the way of other plants growing adjacent the Apium, though grasses, Cortaderia, occasional flax, Lotus pedunculatus are growing on the creek bank itself.

Would have been submerged at high tide, so definitely within the influence of brackish tidal (mostly fresh) water.
