Supplementary remarks:
Isotype of Ulota novae-seelandiae Sainsbury, Bull. R. Soc. N.Z. 5: 223. Capsules few & poor. I measured the spores in a single capsule in 1987 to be 34-42 µm diam. and I interpret this as being in the range of continuous variation for U. viridis. Some spores are malformed and persisting as tetrads.
