Notes:
Succulent herb with very short stem and large rosette of leaves terminating it. Leaves to c. 19 x 13 cm, light green, downy, obovate, ± flat above, slightly keeled beneath. Inflor. 40 - 50 cm high. Bracts persisting up the flower stem, broad and rounded with cordate base. Cymes scorpioid (with secund flowers). Flower 8 - 10 merous. Sepals triangular, green or red-tinged. Petals 7 - 8 mm long, oblong-lanceolate, cream, > sepals. Stamens with whitish filaments. Scales subreniform, c. 1 mm wide and 0.5 mm deep, translucent. First time species has flowered.
