from 980m
Habitat:
Stream gully with extensive Sphagnum cristatum blanket bogs, and schist outcrops, and swift, rather shallow stream.
Abundance:
Common
Notes:
Common on Sphagnum cristatum dominated seepage slope in stream gully. This is the form of D. robustum that has been termed "Dicranum scoparium" A little ± typical Dicranum robustum present. I believe these are one species, with "D. scoparium" being a juvenile form of bogs.

& Dicranoloma robustum
Allan Fife, May 2008
Supplementary remarks:
Dicranum scoparium Hedw & Dicranoloma robustum the alar cells are partially bistratose here (I have sectioned 2 leaves from the isolated “scoparium” stem Alar cells separated from the costa by an area of unpigmented but enlarged cells…this seems to occur in all the “scoparium” material with bistratose alars that I have recently examined (c. ten specimens) I have also sectioned 2 leaves from the “robustum” fragment of this specimen and found them to be entirely unistratose.
