In connection with this species I secured a minor triu mph! This plant appeared to ber "Hymenostylium curvirostre" - or rather the latter appeared to be this, according to a specimen I have, so determined by Dixon (who gives the Hymenostylium as growing in N.Z.). I espressed my doubts to him, & he replied that he ought to do penance in "conspicuous sackcloth & ashes" for making such a mistake! So H. curvirostre must be struck out of the N.Z. list.
