Notes:
One tree in short scrub on river terrace. Vegetation dominated by Coriaria arborea, Coprosma robusta and Leptospermum scoparium. Kunzea is very uncommon in this region. This specimen was from a tree 8 m tall with erect, somewhat "billowing" crown. Bark papery, shedding easily, and peeling like wood shavings around base of tree. When fresh pale pink grey, often curling up in hands when peeled off tree. Branchlet hairs copious, curled, patent to antrorse (mainly patent). Flowers with (16-)20(-24) stamens arranged [2,3 ap - 1,2 as] × 5 pe. Essential Oil Voucher.
