Notes:
A stand of six trees (5-10 m tall) growing with Metrosideros excelsa on steep, Waitemata Formation cliffs facing east. Hybrids present further up cliff face and along Tennyson Road but these trees seem to be pure var. linearis (a rarity in Auckland now). Site corresponds to the approximate location of the Type locality for this variety, as determined from Kirk's type material - labelled by him as "Ahatawapa" (a Maori Pa site which was in this approximate area until 1918)
