Notes:
Growing on sand podzols and associated peat. Specimen collected amongst K. eircoides var. linearis, K. aff. ericoides (K. "latififolia") and Leptospermum scoparium var. incanum. Part of a prolific hybrid swarm between K. ericoides var. linearis and K. "latifolia". This specimen closest to K."latifolia". K. ericoides var. linearis expressed by dense, erect branching habit, smaller, pinkish flowers, acute calyx lobes, forward pointing petals, small anthers, and high stamen numbers (38-46).
However, the broader less hairy leaves, inflorescences tending toward corymbiform, and broad hypanthia recall K. "latifolia" (see also AK 288536). This habitat was the scene of major kauri-gum digging during the late 1800's to 1930's. It was repeatedly burned and dug over. Such plants are common along the roadside margins of the gumfields.
