Habitat:
Common on stony alluvial terrace with Hedycarya arborea and Melicytus ramiflorus. Trees up to 15 m tall. Trunk very broad, crown open, billowing. Bark peeling in narrow tabular strips. Branchlet hairs mixtures of curled patent and antrorse, appressed. Leaves bright green, linear-lanceolate. Flowers with (24-)26(-27) stamens, arranged [2,3 ap-3 as] × 5pe. Growth form, bark type, and hair mixtures suggestive of hybridism between K. ericoides s.s. and K. "latifolia". K. "latifolia" is locally common in this area (e.g.) AK 288488) but K. ericoides s.s. is scarce.
