Notes:
Sparingly naturalised in rank grassland near Accommodation House. Sex saplings seen in the immediate area of where a single large tree had been growing until it was cut over in 2007. also occuring as scattered saplings along road to, and around swimming pool - all of these plants are destined to be sprayed and cut out as part of the weed management programme in place on the island. Shoots appressed puberulent. Leaves glossy, dark red above and reddish brown beneath; veins and middrib pink on both sides; margins pale pink in irregular patches and strips. Inflorescences usually curving; flowers pink.
