Open slope, near stock track through pasture.
Notes:
Stout herbs with stems several to one plant and to c.1m high. Leaves cobwebby white beneath. Taproot stout. Capitula nodding at anthesis and fruiting, 4-6cm diam. Phyllaries deep purple above, becoming green at fruiting. Florets deep rosy-purple. Upper parts of plant only collected. Growing close to Sykes 444/98 [CHR 532735], the population consisting of c.12 plants (all destroyed).
