Notes:
Locally abundant (many hundreds of thousands present) rhizomatous and stoloniferous herb to 40cm high. Rosette leaves 1-10 × 0.4-2 cm, upper surface green with scattered long hairs, lower surface grey-green with matted hairs and long straight hairs. Plants without cauline leaves and flower heads solitary. All florets pale yellow and with ligules that have 5 teeth at the tip, outer florets with red strip in centre of outer face. Involucral bracts dark green with black glandular hairs. Many flowers present but species mostly past peak of flowering. Achenes black when mature, c. 2mm long and with a 'dirty' white pappus.
