Habitat:
Small ridge with subalpine scrub, fairly open.
Notes:
Young stunted bushy tree c.1.5m high, deciduous. Trunk stout, i.e. plant very slow-growing. Young leaves light green. Young cones pinkish-red, c.1.5cm long, erect. Isolated plant but species common lower down in forest.
