Notes:
Garden, cultivated ground. Stout herb with main stem erect, to 7cm diam., including inflor. the plant c.2.5m high, smelling mildly of angelica when bruised. Stems flushed purple. Leaf sheaths creamy-green. Leaflets soft & thin, glossy deep green above, pale green beneath. Fls green, in convex compound umbels; petals c.1.3mm long, strongly convex. Inflor. stems purple-flushed. Fruiting inflor. to c.30cm across, convex but not strongly dome-shaped. Almost certainly a hybrid between A. archangelica & A. pachycarpa, both of which grow in this garden.
