Habitat:
Amongst old graves, in broad grassy paths and between gravestones.
Notes:
Cormous herb. Leaves distichous. Inflorescence stems erect to nearly 1m high, strongly marked with red. Sheaths reddish. Perianth directed outwards, creamy-white; 4-5cm long; tube curved forwards and amplicate; lobes 2.2-2.8cm long x 1-1.2cm wide (inner lobes), somewhat irregular limb with upper lobes more or less curving over male and female and lowest lobe more or less recurved. Male and female parts white or cream. A number of plants, amongst the very common pink form.
