Habitat:
Mudstone roadside bank and 'scraped' waste area across the gravel road. With Lotus pedunculatus, Schedonorus phoenix. On secondary forest edge (Melicytus ramiflorus).
Notes:
Plant ID Register: 2001/606.Garden escape (house above the roadbank) but also across the road now, from the house. Loc. common. Perianth bright orange - outer 3 plain, inner 3 slightly narrower and with broken brown stripes on the orange (all over the surface on 2, in outer 1/3 of 1 'petal'). Stamens 6, curved towards upper tepal - flower slightly zygomorphic. Rhizomes fleshy; leaves somewhat clammy to touch.
