Habitat:
Small strip of mown grass. Adventive.
Notes:
Semi-prostrate herb (mowing prevents a more erect habit). Leaves in small distichous fans. Perianth 8-9mm long, light blue-mauve with dark purple band at base of "limb". Tepals about 2mm wide, apiculate; claw greenish-yellow inside and with marginal purple bands and central green keel outside. Stamens less than claw of petal. The dwarf form of S. iridifolium recorded as Sisyrinchium "Blue". Flora N.Z. Vol. 111. p135 (1980).
